Don’t have a bicycle of your own? Rentals are available seasonally near the Cades Cove Campground Store. Rates, hours, bicycle sizes, and reservation policies can change, so confirm the current details with the Cades Cove Trading Company before making a special trip.
In addition to the open-air experience, riding gives you time to notice the landscape at a slower pace. During the seasonal vehicle-free program, normally from May through September, Cades Cove Loop Road is closed to motor vehicles all day each Wednesday. On other days the road is generally shared with vehicle traffic. Check the National Park Service Cades Cove page for the current schedule and temporary closures before your visit.
Make sure that you are wearing clothing that is appropriate for bike riding and the weather conditions. Closed toed shoes and high visibility clothing are recommended.
