Directions to Cades Cove
Important Note: There is only one driving entrance into the Cades Cove Loop, accessible via Laurel Creek Road. Some online maps may suggest multiple entrances, but Laurel Creek Road is the only direct route into the Loop.
From Gatlinburg to Cades Cove
- Follow the main Parkway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
- After passing the Sugarlands Visitor Center, take a right onto Little River Road.
- Stay on Little River Road for just over 20 miles, enjoying the beautiful, winding journey.
- You’ll eventually reach Cades Cove at the end of Little River Road.
From Pigeon Forge to Cades Cove
There are two main routes from Pigeon Forge to Cades Cove:
Route 1:
- Follow the Pigeon Forge Parkway into Gatlinburg.
- Then, follow the directions from Gatlinburg to Cades Cove as mentioned above.
Route 2:
- Take Wears Valley Road through Wears Valley to Townsend.
- Enter the national park via the Lyon Springs Road entrance.
- Use Little River Road to reach Laurel Creek Road at Cades Cove.
This second route is usually quicker if you’re already in the Pigeon Forge area.
If you’re already in Gatlinburg, use the directions through the Gatlinburg entrance to the national park and avoid backtracking.
